Seed beads In Multi-strand Style

Seed beads have always been around just like the other beads. There are different types out there and vary from sizes to quality. These beads have always fascinated me because of the finishing and beauty they exude when used alone or combine with other bigger beads.

Just to chip in, they come in sizes 6/0- 15/0. The higher the number on it, the smaller the size. For instance, the size 6/0 is bigger than size 8/0 and that is also bigger than size11/0. This goes on if you understand what I mean. They come from different manufacturers, hence this shows in the quality, color, and uniformity of the seed beads. The cheap ones are not uniform in their cut, some of them fade fast, while others tend to lose their luster and shine as time progresses.

The expensive ones are uniform in size and cut. They retain their shine and look more polished. Either way, seed beads are lovely when you work with them.

Here, a potpourri of two colors is used to create this multi-strand set. They are 31 strands intertwined in this necklace while a matching earring is picked to go with the brooch. By the way, the brooch is optional as you can equally rock the necklace without one.

Also, multi-strand drop earrings and bracelet can be made to go with the necklace. There are variations to this design. Meanwhile, here is what I did…

My First Beaded Kunmihimo Jewelry

In my first Kun mini mo jewelry  (bracelet), I used only cords, combining two colors to make a piece. I loved the outcome and so do people who saw it.

I got my bobbins and s-long thread so I decided to take the next step by adding beads. I  had a quite a number of seed beads in different colors and sizes. It was a bit difficult and confusing to choose the colors.

I have seen quite a number of beaded Kun Minimo jewelry and I wanted to make something different from the regular. This I intended to achieve either through the colors or bead sizes to be used in this maiden project.

I began by adding the beads to the bobbins then began the braids. Along the way, I had issues with my bobbins- two of them actually came off with the beads! I tell you, it wasn’t one of my favorite moments.

Eventually, I finished the first one and then added my clasp, a magnetic clasp and my very first time to use it.

My daughters could not get their hands on it. It was fun and they just kept wearing and playing with the clasp. For me, I just loved the colors…the softness. I knew I have achieved that yearning of making something a bit different.

Green gemstone is one of the best choice to make your collection gorgeous.

Multi-strands With Style

I apologize for the long absence again. This is not intended as a lot of things went down these past months! I must however say, I did squeeze out some time to bead and get challenged and inspired when time permits.

This is my latest design and its made up of 15-layers in front and 8 on both sides at the back. The 2 plates on both sides took almost a day to fill up with the beads. That was the most challenging aspect of the desig

The design came in monochrome and multi color too. The multi color was difficult to balance out because of the various colors used. This took me such a LONG time to sort out! At a point, I almost wanted to give up and do a simpler version. But I told myself, if I don’t do it now, I won’t learn from my mistakes and get better. Hence, I did challenge myself and got the work done!

More colors came in as well, the black and white versions! What’s your favorite and why?
